The purpose of the Threshold To Maine Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Area is to assist communities in York, Cumberland, Oxford, and Franklin Counties improve skills and commitment to balancing social, economic, and ecological issues around natural resource use.

Since 1970, Threshold To Maine has worked in partnership with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service to deliver the RC&D program.  This partnership has allowed local people, utilizing federal technical assistance, to design and implement a program tailored to meet local needs.
